Florida MMUR Card Costs, Renewals, and Deadlines

Who this is for
Anyone budgeting for a Florida card, and anyone who has a card and does not want to lose it to a missed date.
The costs (verified August 27, 2026)
- State processing fee: $75 for a new card, and $75 for each annual renewal.
- Online convenience fee: $2.75 on each online payment. An online application or renewal therefore totals $77.75.
- Physician fees: set by the physician, not the state. Ask before you book. During active Red, White & Blue Tour campaigns the physician visit may be provided at no cost to approved applicants; that is campaign-dependent.
- Products: purchased from a licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center at the center's prices. Not covered by insurance, and not paid for by the VA.
The dates
- Card expiration: one year after approval.
- Renewal window: renewal applications may be submitted starting 45 days before the card expires. Put a reminder in your phone for 50 days out.
- Processing time: online applications average about 10 business days for approval, per OMMU. Do not wait until the last week.
- Physician recertification: your physician certification in the registry has its own schedule, set by Florida law and your physician. A current card with a lapsed certification does not let you purchase. Confirm your recertification date at every visit.
What proof of residency looks like
Permanent residents use a valid Florida driver license or ID card. Seasonal residents provide two documents from the state's list, such as a deed, a utility bill or government mail. The OMMU page has the full list.
How The Grateful Veteran's assistance works
When a sponsored campaign is active, the $75 state fee may be covered for approved applicants, and a participating physician visit may be provided at no cost. Two things to know:
- It is campaign-dependent. Eligibility, what is covered and how many people can be helped are set by each campaign and posted with it. There is no standing entitlement.
- It does not change the state's rules. You still apply to the state, you still renew every year, and the physician still makes the medical determination.
